Kim + Jamie Engagement Session | Douthat State Park | Clifton Forge

I met Kim and Jamie when Kim called to inquire about an available date for their fall wedding. In the phone call, we just clicked and I knew I had to get them in my office right away so I could find out about these two!

When they came in to speak with me, they told me a little about their story, and it is so sweet!

They met back in high school, and Kim told me she really liked Jamie. She said she told her friends that she thought he was cute. So, she texted him. He told her that they should be friends, and throughout high school remained. However, a few years after graduating, they found each other again, and have been together ever since. Cute, right?

So, for their engagement, during Christmastime, Jamie took Kim to Pigeon Forge, TN, and they had planned to spend some time together away from it all. With Kim being in school full-time and Jamie working two jobs, Kim thought a little time away would be perfect, so she was more than excited. Little did she know, she would go on a trip with her boyfriend, and come home with her soon-to-be husband! They rented a cabin for three days and four nights, enjoyed seeing the Christmas lights and the morning of December 21st, Jamie asked Kim to spend forever together! They topped off their trip with a show from Dixie Stampede and came back home that Tuesday engaged!

For their engagement, I asked them what they like to do together, and they both agreed - They LOVE just being outside and together. We decided on Douthat State Park for their picture location, and what makes their session even better is they brought along their most adorable little fur-baby, Bella. Having Bella participate in the shoot was really a no-brainer. Kim told me about how Bella completes their family, and asked if she could bring her. Without a doubt, there was no way I would ever deny that! I really also have to add that watching those three interact together added such a natural element to the shoot, that it felt like we were all hanging out while I just so happened to have my camera. Their session happened so naturally, and I truly believe this session is so them.

When Kim told me their story, my heart melted. Meeting these two, watching them just be together, and taking their engagement pictures would make even the hardest of believers know that there is real true love. I am so lucky to have spent time with them, and I seriously cannot wait for their big day! Stay tuned in as we capture what really is a love story continue as a happily ever after!
